L Brands Foundation Grants $65,000 to Children’s Hunger Alliance to Support Child Nutrition Programs

(Columbus, Ohio) – L Brands Foundation, headquartered in Columbus, recently awarded $65,000 to Children’s Hunger Alliance (CHA) to help ensure that more children in Ohio receive healthy food, nutrition education and physical activity.

“Currently one in four children in Ohio suffers from food insecurity,” said Tom Saunders, Children’s Hunger Alliance’s Vice President of Programs. “This generous grant from L Brands Foundation will make it possible to further our nutrition and education work with family child care providers, and afterschool and summer meal programs in the Greater Columbus and Kettering areas.”
Specifically the grant will help Children’s Hunger Alliance provide:

More than 215,000 meals and snacks to children enrolled in more than 70 afterschool meal programs.
Federally-subsidized meals to 1,000 children in the care of Franklin and Montgomery County home child care providers.
Increased programming to summer sites where children receive meals and snacks.
Mary Lynn Foster, President & CEO of Children’s Hunger Alliance, thanked L Brands Foundation for their continued support of the agency’s work to fight childhood hunger. “L Brands Foundation is a true partner in our work to help children grow up healthy and nourished,” she said. “In addition to this generous grant, the Foundation is also a $25,000 Gold Apple sponsor of our Menu of Hope luncheon on February 29, 2016. Their year-round support of our work is truly amazing.”
