Heisman Trophy-winner to headline 30th Annual Menu of Hope fundraiser on March 6

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Star quarterback Joe Burrow is teaming up with Children’s Hunger Alliance (CHA), Kroger’s Columbus Division, and Kroger Health to tackle childhood food insecurity in Ohio by headlining CHA’s 30th Annual Menu of Hope fundraiser in Columbus, Ohio, on March 6, 2025.

Menu of Hope, first held in 1995, is an annual fundraiser to ensure CHA’s ability to provide Ohio’s children with nutritious food to eat every day of the week, all year long. Between CHA’s mission of breaking the cycle of childhood hunger in Ohio and Kroger’s Zero Hunger | Zero Waste initiative, the Southeast Ohio native Burrow is a natural fit.

The fifth-year professional football player memorably spotlighted the food insecurity and poverty in Southeast Ohio during his Heisman Trophy speech in 2019. Using that moment as a springboard, Burrow and his parents, with business and community leaders from Ohio and Louisiana, founded The Joe Burrow Foundation to help children with mental illness and those experiencing food insecurity.

Kroger, Kroger Health, and Burrow share a strong collaboration rooted in their commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and nutrition security for children and families in need. Recognizing the importance of eating healthy, they have joined forces to address the alarming issue of food insecurity, ensuring that no child or family goes hungry. Through their collaboration, Kroger Health and Burrow strive to raise awareness about the significance of proper nutrition and provide support to those uncertain about their next meal. By leveraging their platforms, they aim to empower communities, inspire positive change, and create a brighter future for all.

The Menu of Hope luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Ballroom in Columbus. Table sponsor opportunities are still available by contacting development@childrenshungeralliance.org. Individual tickets go on sale in early February at www.childrenshungeralliance.org/menu-of-hope-25/.
