Children’s Hunger Alliance (CHA) hosted Taste to Remember on August 29, 2024, raising over $129,000 to support meal programs for Ohio’s hungry children. Sponsored by Grange Insurance for the second year, the event featured local chefs and brought together sponsors and community leaders to raise awareness of children’s food insecurity.
Attendees enjoyed a live musical performance, gourmet food, and opportunities to contribute through silent and live auctions. The highlight of the evening included remarks from Carrie Maun-Smith, Head of DEI and Community Relations at Grange Insurance, who reaffirmed Grange’s 20+ year partnership with Children’s Hunger Alliance. Maun-Smith urged guests to continue supporting the organization’s mission to provide nutritious meals to children across Ohio.
Michelle Brown, President and CEO of Children’s Hunger Alliance, also emphasized the importance of the organization’s meal programs, which provided over 1.8 million meals to children in Franklin County, supporting over 40,000 children across central Ohio.
The evening concluded with a live auction and heartfelt thanks to all sponsors and attendees for their generous contributions to the fight against childhood hunger.
The Restaurateur Sponsor of Taste to Remember was Grange Insurance. Other major sponsors were ASG, NiSource Charitable Foundation, Sysco, The Champion Companies, BMI Federal Credit Union, Caladwich Consulting, G&J Pepsi, Anonymous, Premiere ProduceOne, and UPS.
Over 505,000 children in Ohio are struggling with hunger and do not know when they will have their next meal. CHA partners with over 1,400 organizations throughout the state to provide millions of meals annually to at-risk children. Funds raised through events like Taste to Remember support the programs that provide access to food for children and help them live a healthy life.
“We were thrilled to celebrate with caring supporters, board and team members, and talented chefs, in support of food security for children across Ohio.” – Michelle Brown, President and CEO of Children’s Hunger Alliance
