Supporters celebrate event’s 20th anniversary with food, games
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Children’s Hunger Alliance (CHA) supporters enjoyed a memorable evening of food, music, casino games, and community at Taste to Remember 2026 on Aug. 20 in Dublin, all to support food-insecure children. This year’s event, which celebrated its 20th year with a “Casino Royale” theme, set a new fundraising milestone, generating $215,000 to help CHA lead the charge against childhood hunger in Ohio.
In Franklin County, 23 percent of children live with food insecurity, which means they don’t have reliable access to enough food to thrive. Statewide, hunger affects one in five children — more than 505,000 kids.
Supporters from across Ohio convened at The Exchange at Bridge Park to have fun and learn about the critical roles individual donors and communities play in helping children get nutritious meals and food education. During her formal remarks, CHA President and CEO Michelle M. Brown spoke about the nonprofit’s impact, partnerships, and advocacy, which includes supporting statewide food literacy standards that have bipartisan backing in the Ohio Legislature.
In 2025, CHA served over 10.1 million meals to over 125,000 children across Ohio, providing them with nutritious food right where they are, every day of the year. CHA pairs nutrition education with healthy meals to set children up with a strong foundation of practical food knowledge that leads to a lifetime of healthy eating.
Taste to Remember guests were treated to tasty bites prepared by top local chefs and restaurants, including American Culinary Federation – Columbus, Cameron Mitchell Premiere Events, The Refectory, Hilton Columbus at Easton, Vaso – AC Hotel Dublin, Konfetti Cart, Social House – Lima, and Zink Foodservice. Attendees also enjoyed drinks, bid on exciting gifts and experiences in the live and silent auctions, and participated in a bourbon pull — with all proceeds benefiting hungry children in Ohio.
The presenting sponsor of Taste to Remember was Grange, and other sponsors included Hexion, Liberty Mutual, The Champion Companies, GBQ Partners LLC, The Kontogiannis Companies, The Marzetti Company, ASG, CASTO, Crowe LLP, Gryphon Financial Partners, KeyBank, and Premiere ProduceOne.
Mike McCarthy, anchor for ABC6-WSYX, emceed the event, and live jazz music was provided by a trio of students from The Ohio State University School of Music.
